2S4Y Sketch - Happy Birthday

Good Morning! How's your weather over there? It's not very bright over here as it rained yesterday night but I'm pretty sure it will be hot again in the afternoon. It's always like that.

You know what? I was on my way back from work yesterday when I saw an accident right in front of me! Well, maybe not exactly right in front as I was about 10 cars away from the scene. But I saw the van sort of like swerved to the side of the road and bang on something and I was like "Oh my God...did it hit anyone?". The cars in front of me suddenly come to a halt and luckily I'm able to stop in time too. When I passed the scene only I know what the van hit or what hit the van. The accident involved a van, a bus and two vehicles. The bus look ok to me but the van and the cars are not. Luckily, no one is injured (phew!)

I just finished a card for 2S4Y. I tell you, this blog is getting better and better. So much fun especially with their card showdown! The competitions are tough and I can't wait to see who will walk away with the grand prize! Good luck to the 5 talented ladies (wink)

I flipped the sketch and make it horizontal and for this card, I used the Making Memories pp that I bought last week. The journaling block was a stamp from Prima and I stamped it on a pink cardstock. The leaves were cut out from Crate Paper pp. Brads and letter stickers were from Making Memories while the flowers were from Prima.
That's it for me today and happy Wednesday to you!

Micheal Jackson

Have you heard the news yet?? Michael Jackson, the king of pop died this morning (My local time) at the age of 50. I was shocked when I learned about the news on radio this morning. He was sent to hospital due to cardiac arrest and died shortly after. He's such a talented entertainer and in fact, he's one of the greatest entertainers in the world. May his soul rest in peace.

Sorry for starting my post with solemn news. Now, let's move on to another X'mas card I made (do I deserve another pat on the back?? lol). I bought the Maya Road chipboard house last year and used it to make a mini book for my BFF's birthday. I don't remember why I didn't use all and left one in my stash. So, I decided to use it on this card.

I covered the chipboard house and background with paper from October Afternoon (told you I {heart} October Afternoon). The window and door are cut from some leftover PP. The white with blue snowflakes PP were from Basic Grey. I stamped the X'mas trees and colored with Sakura pens (I {heart} Sakura pens). I cut the snowmen from KI Memories PP. Add stickles to the roof, stamped the greetings and "poof".....my 2nd X'mas card for year 2009 :)

Oh yeah...it's Friday today! Happy Friday!!

1st X'mas card for 2009

It's already Thursday and tomorrow it's Friday! Can you tell that I'm excited about it? First of all, I would to appologize to those who visit my blog but don't get to see any updates from me. It's not that I did not craft at all, just that I did not upload them yet. I enjoy making cards but I just dread on posting them. Sometimes I'll stare at the screen and my mind is blank. I just don't know what to write. There are times where I just feel like posting the photos and not having to write anything. But then, I drop the idea. This is not how a blog should be. An ideal blog would be one that's fun to read and full of inspirations. Mine is far from ideal but hopefully, one day I'm able to achieve that (well, maybe someday?)
I'm still deliberating on whether I should post more of my personal stuff or only cards. Maybe I'll just start with whatever pictures I have in my camera. No, wait! I don't have any pictures in my camera except...yeah, you guess it, cards! How pathetic, lol.

Anyway, I have one card to share today. I'm early with my X'mas cards this year. I went to buy more paper two days ago at Smidapaper. Sheila (the owner) is kind enough to wait for me at her beautiful store (it's actually her house). It's such a bliss to shop at her place!
What's wrong with me? First, I said I don't know what to write but now I can't seem to stop :) Ok, let's move on to my card. I have one card to share today. I'm early with X'mas card this year (a pat on the back for me, pls...lol).

I {heart} October Afternoon paper now :) I cut the X'mas tree from the newly bought October afternoon paper, then add some trim and secured it with brads, handstiched the borders, add a ribbon and voila....my 1st Xmas card in the year of 2009!

Thanks and have a wonderful day! It's almost Friday!

2-In-1

Oh no! Haze is here! The weather was okay yesterday but it was hazy when I woke up this morning. It was so bad that there's not even a hint of sunlight. I just hope and pray that we will have a heavy downpour today. We've been having this extremely hot weather for weeks...and now with the haze, I just don't know what to say.

Enough about the weather. On to my cards. I managed to create 2 cards based on 2 different sketches in 1 night. The one below is for 2S4Y.

And this is the card I created for Card Patterns. I'm giving this card to a friend who had just delivered her 2nd baby girl.

Sorry for a really short post today. I feel so sleepy right now...went to bed at 2am y'day. Plus, the hazy weather just make me lost my mood :(

Anyway, thanks for stopping by my blog!

Top 5 at Card Patterns!!

Oh wow! I was surpised to see my name on the top 5 list at Card Patterns this week! I'm on cloud 9 now :) Thanks to Michelle and all the talented DT over at CP!

I have 2 cards to share today. One is a father's day card order and another one is a random card.
For the card order, I used some of my old PP and a die-cut heart from Cosmo Cricket. I made my 1st flower ribbon and I thought the result was so-so. I shall do it better next time.

Can you see the laced-up pocket? It's actually a gift card holder. I punched the edge of the PP using the the fiskars border punch then, I used DMC thread to laced up the pocket to hold a gift card. I got this idea when I saw a corset while I was in a shopping mall last week :)

That's all for now and thank you so much for visiting my blog! Have a great day, ya!

It's been quite a while.....

since I used stamp on my cards. Frankly speaking, I'm not good at stamp. I can look at it for hours and yet create nothing out of it. I've got some decent stamps but most just sit in my drawer and I totally shut the daylight out of them. If they have a life, they are going to hate me so so much...haha. But I can't help myself whenever I saw beautiful stamps and I know I have to buy them even though they are just gonna add to my unused stamps collection. And that's exactly what I did last week when I was in KL. I went to this scrapbook store and saw some cute mini stamps from Prima. It' s not only cute but quite worth the money. It's actually a 5-piece stamp set. The package comes with a mini stamp, 3 die cuts tags and an ink. Can I resist buying them?? No, of course not. In fact, I bought three! I promised myself that I'm gonna have to use them no matter what. Be it on a card or just a piece of paper. A promise is a promise and here's what I did with one of the three stamps.

The 'Happy Birthday' stamp is from Hero Arts. I'm so used to clear stamps and it's nerve wrecking when it comes to rubber stamps. I can't see exactly where I stamp...whether it's straight or crooked and most of the time the results are blah. Luckily, this Sassafras PP has printed lines and I use it as a guideline to stamp. Pheww...it's straight isn't it?

Yesterday, I made a card for Card Patterns using paper from Coredinations and Fancy Pants. Ohh...I'm loving the coredinations cardstock that I just bought. They are so much fun to use! You can do so many things to it. You can tear it, emboss it or sand it to reveal the core. I embossed mine using the swiss dots folder, then I sand the surface to reveal the pink core. The butterly were traced and cut from a journaling block by Making Memories. I added some flowers, some blings, ribbon...and tadaaa...here's the finish product!

Hope you are having a great day, ya!
