Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week and explore great book blogs. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.
Mailbox Monday is originally hosted by Marcia . In the summer of 2010 Marcia decided she needed a change in hosting and didn't want to rely on one blogger alone to do it because its a lot of work so she decided to put Mailbox Monday on tour and so far with great success it has made monthly stops at more then a dozen blogs and this year is booked until the end.
The host for August is Jennifer from 5 Minutes With Books . This is a new to me blogger and I am super excited to check this blog out.
My fellow Montreal blogger, Tynga is doing a mailbox post called:
Tynga's Reviews is hosting this meme and you can check out this link to find out more about it .
It was a quiet mailbox week as you can and a little busy considering this was the last full week of summer vacation. Tuesday was the summer reading party at the library and it was so much fun every year they always have the best entertainment and this year was no exception. They hired a magician and he did all kinds of tricks.
My camera was a little slow in taking the pictures. Here he is making this boy float and it was awesome. That was only one of the things he did that amazed the kids and parents.
Friends of ours had their daughter picked to help with an act and this one he make a snowflake out of tissue and after it was cut to look like a snow flake he made it snow. The kids were in awe.
After the entertainment it was time to get into the real fun. There was roughly 250 participates in the summer reading party this year and I'm not quite sure how many hours we all read for and I will try to find out when I go to the library this week.
We were lucky enough to win the family draw and it consisted of a $100 Chapters giftcard. Here is Michael with the Liberal leader of our area who presented us the prize:
Then while we were waiting in the cotton candy line
Michael got the suprise of his life, he won this:
Its a jar full of jelly beans, 693 of them. I have managed to hold Michael off of them for now but I'm not sure how long I can do it LOL
This weekend we will be gearing up for Wednesday and back to school. The fun starts with preparing back to school lunches. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate them. The only thing is Michael doesn't like sandwiches and its gotta be peanut free.
I only got two books to review and it was these:
Thanks Random House for sending this to me.
Thanks Sourcebooks. I will be on a blog tour for this so keep an eye out for this to appear shortly on the blog.
I bought no books this week:
