Get Well Soon

Hello! Happy Saturday to ya all! Tonight I wanted to share a card using the stamp that I borrowed from my friend, Jane. This stamp came in handy as my colleague ordered a get well soon card from me earlier this week. I filled the stamped image with watercolor pencils and Sakura pen. FUN! Paper is from October Afternoon and flower sticker is from Sassfrass.

Enjoy your weekend!! See ya!

Rabbit Card

My fellow colleague ordered a birthday card from me to give to his girlfriend. His only request is to have a rabbit on the card. I said okay but my heart said otherwise. I've never done a rabbit piecing before and I'm not sure if I can pull if off this time. After some thoughts only I recalled that I have a rabbit template which I got for free from a magazine quite a while back. It saved me the trouble to think further :)
Here's my first ever rabbit card. What do you think?

Paper are from October Afternoon and cardstock are from Bazzill Basic. The letter stickers are MM and the rest are from my stash. And ohhh...I dab some stickles on the rabbit too. It's much more glittery in real life. Can you see my stitching too? I'm so in need of a sewing machine. Hand stitching is time consuming. Ok, tell me if you like this rabbit card. I'm going to do a bear card soon...an order from another colleague.

Happy Anniversary

****Edit to change photos

It's Tuesday already! My in-laws went for two days trip to Genting Highlands and that means I'll be all alone at home....for two days! Well, I have no problem staying at home alone, just when night falls I would start to imagine all sorts of stuff. Like when I wash my face, I would imagine that 'something' is behind me or while I was sleeping, I would imagine that 'something' is standing at a corner watching me. My mind wouldnt rest unless I hit the sack and fell asleep immediately. I usually keep my bedside lamp on when I'm alone because I don't want to be blinded by the darkness. I would rather see it than hear it and not knowing what it is. Touch wood! But luckily I have my girlfriends to accompany me tonight...at least for dinner :)

I'm happy to play along with this week's sketch by the ever talented Michelle from Card Patterns

It took me one and a half hour to complete this card and here's what I did:

The paper you see here is a journaling page by Making Memories. I adhered it to a white cardstock and cut it according to the shape. The heart is handcut from chipboard then, I paint it with white dimensional glue and sprinkled lots of glitter dust by Hero Arts. I don't have swirl rhinestones so I made my own. I try to make the swirl as close as the sketch but I don't think I succeed :)

Come by again...I have one more card to show you :)

Happy Birthday

It's me again!! Yep....two posts in a day! How nice! I have one more card (commissioned by my colleague) to show you here. My friend Jane just recently bought some SU stamps and she's kind enough to let me borrow them. Let me tell you, those SU stamps that she bought are so CUTE! She bought six (if I remembered correctly) and I borrowed two from her. I'll show you what I created using one of the stamp.

As you can see, I don't really use much stamp on most of my card. But I'm having tons of fun playing with these SU stamps. I purposely bought a new set of watercolor pencils to use with these stamps. How do you like my coloring?? I don't know what happen but my hand was shaky when I took this picture. So the image was a bit blurry. Oh yeah...see that small butterfly again? Yep...it's cut out from Prima flowers....it's addictive :) Not sure if you can see it from here but I dab some stickles all over the image to make it glittery :)

Get Sketchy #2

Happy Monday to you my dear friends! I finally watched 'UP' last week and I LOVE this movie! That kid is sooo adorable and funny!! Alright....I'm not going to spill any more details here....especially if you have not watch the movie yet. Hurry...go watch now...you'll love it! And don't think that you are too old for cartoons. I watched it with my in-laws and they enjoyed the movie so much...lol :)

Did you know there's a new sketch challenge site called 'Get Sketchy'?? You shoud hop over and look at all the beautiful cards showcased there. You will not be dissappointed! What's more fun is two of my bloggy friends Ann and Amy are in the design team!

This is what I made based on the sketch. The bonus challenge is to use a punch. So, I whip out my Fiskars border punch and used it on pink PP and back it up with white cardstock to contrast it. I love pink and so everything on this card is mostly pink. See that small butterly? I actually cut it out from prima flowers. I've been saving this swirly rub-on by Crate paper for quite some time that I decided to use it on this card and top it off with pearls.

I hope you are having a great day! I've been telling myself to enjoy even though it's only Monday :) Tata!!

Card for Granny (not my granny)

Woot! Woot! It's Friday already!! How time flies! This week is a busy week for me. We had a department outing yesterday and I'm glad it's finally over. We did a mini hunt and a cooking competition. We usually hunt for treasure but this time we twist a bit and hunt for ingredients instead. After that they will have to cook with whatever ingredients that they found during the hunt. We have 8 teams and I'm amazed that all of them cooked well! The food taste nice and they put in extra effort in decorating their table. Imagine, we have fine dining table setup in the middle of the beach...lol :) We even have survivor like decoration...how fun!

I'm sorry I have not been really active this week. I'm sorry if I did not visit your blog. I will be back next week...promise :) Here's one more card to share. A friend asked me to make a card for her granny's 80th b'day. I personally like this card and I hope her granny likes it too. What you think?

Forever in Love

Happy Tuesday to you my sweet friend! HB finally got a call from his office last week that he is required to onboard his ship. He will be away for 2 months and I'm all alone again. But it's alright, I can make more cards with my spare time :)

My friend asked me to make a wedding card for his brother who's getting married in Mexico. All the papers are from Making Memories wedding line except for the chipboard and ribbon. They were from a local craft store.
I got to run now. Busy busy. And thanks for all the sweet and encouraging comments! I really appreciate it!! A big hug to you all!

Frame

Yahoooo!! It's Friday!! Happy Friday to y'all!! Have you watched District 9 yet?? I watched it y'day and I think it's one of the great alien movie I'd watched so far. I'm not going into details of the movie. Go watch it yourself :)

Early this week, I was commissioned by my colleague to decorate a frame for his son's b'day (aww...what a sweet father) and here's what I did. I did a lot of paper piecing here. The house, grass and roof were cut from Sassfrass then I add Platinum stickles on the edge of the roof and sticked them with dimensional foam for that 3D look. The tree was cut using paper from October Afternoon. See that green flower on the left? It's from Sassfrass too. I handstitched the clouds and the side of the photos. And tadaa....the finish product :) Ooops...I forgot to mention the frame is from Ikea.

Got to run! See you next time :)

2Sketches4You ~ Laura's Sketch 32

Helloooooo ladies! It's Wednesday and I'm on my bed typing away with my eyes partially closed...lol!! It's been a crazy week for me! We are busy planning some outdoor activities for my department next week and we are left with so little time. I sure hope everything will fall into place when the time is near (fingers cross)

Anyway, just a quick post for today. My friend, Penny asked me to make a card for her father's birthday and I'm using Laura's sketch 32 at 2Sketches4You . As you know, I've missed quite a number of their sketches and I'm so glad I could take part this week. I'm having these Crate Paper for a while now and thought it's time to use it. I hope it's not too funky for his liking though :)

Good nite and sweet dreams!

Guest Designer for Card Patterns

Hello peeps! How's your Saturday?? I spent almost the whole afternoon in a hair saloon. I finally have the courage to chop off my long hair. HB said I look like a college student and he doesn't really fancy my new haircut. I thought it look ok but I have to wait till my next hair wash to see if it's really ok.

In my previous post I mentioned that I was choosen as the guest designer for Card Patterns this week. Michelle sent me the sketch and here's my take.

When I saw the sketch, I thought it look a bit similar with the owl card I made a couple of days ago. So, I decided to make a bird card this time but everything else is almost the same as the owl card.
That's all I have for today and see you in my next post. Enjoy your weekend!

Home again...

It's Friday! Yes! I've been waiting for Saturday to come since Monday. I need more sleep! I used to go to bed at 10:30pm or earlier and my friends would laugh at me because they said I sleep too early. But now, things have changed and I only go to bed past midnight. I usually set my alarm at 6:3oam but when it rings, I struggle to wake up. God knows how many time I press snooze whenever the alarm goes on. Psst...let me tell you a secret...I even close my eyes while brushing my teeth. Please tell me I'm not lazy...lol. Am I the only one who's having problem waking up or are you on the same boat with me? Come on...share with me....it makes me feel better (or less guilty, coz I'm always late for work. Shhh...don't tell my boss)

Ok....another card to share with you today. My friend, Penny was invited to a house warming party and she commissioned me to create a card for the host. The die cut house is from Fancy Pants and the chipboard letters are from AC. I actually embossed the cloud with my cuttlebug but you can't see in this photo. I'm lazy to stitch so I add some faux stitching on the punched border and stick it to the edge of the card.

I got to go now and hope you are having a great weekend. Tata!

Black Day

Yesterday went by uneventful at my workplace. A couple of my colleagues have been terminated by the company and they had to leave immediately upon notice. No packing up, no email and not even a goodbye. The news came shockingly and none of us were prepare for this. Everyone's one mood turned sombre and I have to admit I was emotionally affected by this. None of us saw this coming and I feel sorry that they had to go through this. I just hope and pray that this will not happen anymore in the near future. But who knows....you can't predict the future, right???

Anyways, I have one more card to show you today. My ex-schoolmate asked me to create a birthday card for her husband. The only request from her is to create something that got to do with poker. And here's what I did.

Have great day, ya!

Good news and an award!
