Card Style Week: Let's Do Shabby & Vintage

Happy FRIDAY! Yeah!

Sometimes creativity is a funny thing. I told you on yesterday's post that I lost my mojo but when I sat down on my desk at night, I was so inspired that I created a shabby chic card. Though inspired but I still have a tough time deciding which paper and embellies to use. Finally, I decided to work with Webster Pages paper and Tim Holtz glimmer chips. The rest of the embellies just fall into places :) I love it when that happens....though rarely. I did a lot of distressing using tea dye ink and white acrylic paint. The beautiful white doily is from my babe Sharon. This will be my last card for the Card Style challenge at Moxie Fab World.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and I truly appreciate it! I know I have not been visiting much lately but I will catch up with you all soon. I promise! Have a great ahead!

MFW: Card Style Week - Fun & Cute (2nd card)

Hey there!

Sorry about my disappearing act! I was too caught up with work lately that I feel like I am slowly losing my mojo. I tried to spark my creativity from blog hopping to reading magazine but yet I create nothing. I am crossing my fingers that my mojo will return today........or maybe tomorrow.......or maybe....well just maybe :)

I have a card to share. We made this banner card during our class at Smidapaper last week. I showed the gals (and a guy) how to make these banners using scallop punches. I thought it looked cute and fun so I am entering it for the card style challenge at Moxie Fab World.

There are new classes lineup at Smidapaper beginning August. Do check out the blog and come join the fun!

A card and update from cardmaking class

Hello lovelies!

Today is Monday but I feel good :) Surprise right? You would often hear me say how much I hate about Monday but not today though. This card made it to Fab 10 again at S24Y this week! Wow...two weeks in a row! I am a happy girl :) Kazan insert a caption underneath our name and mine says "stamping with trims & techniques we love". I never thought I'll be a stamper at heart :) And so I'll leave you with another stamping card  using my new Papertrey Ink stamps.

Last Saturday, I taught at Smidapaper and it was so much fun to have the gals (and a guy) in the class! They make my teaching experience so much sweeter and so enjoyable! I look forward to another class in August :) I'll share with you some pics that Josie took during the class (thanks gal!)

The class is about punches and we shared the different ways of using it. Here are the cards we made....

And here are some of the gals.....the rest are not in the pic. The first pic on the left is Josie and the second pic iss the lucky gal who won a prize from the lucky draw. The prize? A stamp set by Practicing Creativity Designs! Sheila (the owner of Smidapaper) is always so generous! The stamps are up for sale at the store. The last pic is me and my girl, Sharon aka my partner in crime....or partner in spending as she says it :)

Have a great day ya!

Have an awesome weekend everyone! Do visit us again, we might do another giveaway... you'll never know :)

TOOT!!!

It's Friday........my favourite day of the week!! I have more reason to be happy on my favourite day. As I was checking my email this morning, I saw a familiar name in my inbox. It was Susan Opel from Paper Craftsl! I was like "are you kidding me"?? I clicked on the email with my trembling hand to read that one of my card was selected for Paper Crafts January/February 2011 issue!!! I was so excited I just couldn't contain myself! This week really IS a GOOD week!

I submitted two cards........only one was accepted. I will share the reject in another post. Hope you like today's card :)

Tomorrow is my class at Smidapaper and I can't wait to see the gals again!! Thanks for coming by!!

Our Findings!

I had lunch with Sharon (a.k.a my partner in crime) today and look what we found??

LACE....in my favourite colors (umm...but not the purple...I bought it because of the bloom)!! Yay! I also bought two packs of stick pins but it's hard to snap with my camera...it seems to be out of focus. I don't know why. We are on the lookout for cheaper but pretty things. We've done enough damage to our pocket and we need time to heal :)

WOOT! WOOT!

Happy Thursdayyyy!!!

I'm EXCITED!! This morning I found out that this card has won the Finding Inspiration in a Layout challenge at Moxie Fab World!!! With my hectic schedule, I thought this week will be a longgg week for me but I was wrong. This surely is a GOOD week for me! Thanks to all my friends for the shout out....you all are the best :)

On yet another exciting note, my Papertrey Ink stamps have finally arrived yesterday and I anxiously counted down the hours till I get home to play with my new stamps :) It's so much fun! I whipped up this card for 2S4Y using the Flutterby Friend and Life stamp set. The background is from the Tin Types set. (psst...if you wondered...I bought seven stamp set from PTI....I'm officially broke...lol)

Hope you have a fun filled day! Tomorrow is Friday....yeah!

All about Mini

Happy Wednesday!

I am still pretty tie up here but I need a breath of air. Need to take my weary mind off work for a little while :) Plus, I miss you all so I thought I would pop in quickly to share a mini card I made last week.

A very simple mini card I made with Girl Paperie. I know...I hope you are not sick of me using Girl Paperie....it's been weeks already since I bought the paper :) But I decided to give my GP paper a rest. I just got my Papertrey Ink stamps and can't wait to play with them. So excited! And yes, you are going to see lots of PTI goodness for the next following weeks :)

Oh yeah.....you all definitely have sharp eyes! Most of you were right about the paper I used on this card. It's definitely Girl Paperie with a mix of OA and SEI. It's so fun that you all played along :)

Fun with circles

Hello there!

Today is Monday and it's my least favourite day of the week. I don't look as cheerful as I normally would and I can't survice the day without coffee. There are tons of work waiting for me and I think this could be the busiest week for me at work. I hope I have the time to create despite all the craziness at work so that I have something to share with you all here. If you ask me what's the one thing I can't live without........it's blogging :)

Let's see what I have for today..........another circles card :) I actually made this last week but haven't gotten around to share with you. So, here it is.....

Let's play a game, shall we? Can you guess the paper I used on this card? Just for the fun of it :) Before I go, I am very happy that this card made it to the top 10 at 2S4Y. There are so many beautiful submissions out there and it's such a great honour for me to be featured among the great talents :)

Hope your Monday is not as bleak as mine :)

2S4Y: Laura's Sketch 56

Happy Thursday!

Today, I have a card to share and no, it's not those circles card you've seen last week and earlier this week. It's a card I made for 2S4Y using my favourite things again....ticket stamp! Have you seen the new release from Papertrey Ink? Oh my...they released new stamps and guess what, it's ticket stamp! Complete with die! Oh my! I've burnt too many holes in my pocket...lol :)

Last night, I had an itch to create so I sat down with all my favourite things on my desk. If I can use all of my favourite things on a card, I so would but a 5"x4" card wouldn't able to hold all that. So, I choose wisely :) I try to use the Girl Paperie paper as often as I could as well as the ticket stamp from Inkadinkado. If you ask me, I have five different ticket stamps in my stash. This is one of the stamp that I don't mind having lots. In fact, it's growing :) The paper flower is made from October Afternoon paper and the center is a wood brad by Chatterbox. See the two stick pins behind the flower? It was given to me by Sharon.....yes, she made it! (thanks babe!) Lastly, I took out my faithful tracing wheel and created a faux stitch on my card....can you see it?

Some of you mentioned that you've never seen a tracing wheel before so I thought I would post a picture to show you exactly what it is. You can get it from any sewing/craft store. It is cheap and definitely helpful when you need to add some faux stitch on your card. It also makes my life easier because as you know it, I don't have a sewing machine :)

Thanks for coming by here! Have a great day!

MFW: Card Style Week - Fun & Cute

Hellooo there!

I am back with another circles card I created over the long weekend. I am in circles craze right now....so please bear with me :)

Moxie Fab World is having a card style week and the first challenge is to create a fun and cute card. Cath described in detail what makes a fun and cute card so I thought I would submit my project based on the style. I did a quiz and my style is a cross between Fun & Cute and Clean & Graphic. Although I love being shabby chic once in a while :) I hope this card fits the style challenge though.

I have been receiving emails about the faux stitch I made on my cards. It's very simple...really. I used a tracing wheel (which you can get from any craft store), dab some ink and trace along the borders. This is definitely my must-have tool if I need to add a faux stitch on my card.

Thanks for your visit! Hope you have a great day!

MFW: Finding inspiration in a Layout

Hey there! I am back with my second post....so please scroll down for the first. There's a new challenge at MFW that I just got to participate. The challenge? Finding inspiration in a Layout! I always do that when I am running low on my creative juice :)

So, here is the inspiring layout...

And here is my card inspired by the layout....

The punched circles and the gradient paper that I used are very much inspired by the layout. I stayed clean and simple so not much embellishment on this card.

Happy Friday to ya!

Cardmaking Class at Smidapaper

I am having a class at Smidapaper on July 24th. We will use a lot of punches during the class. If you are interested in joining the class, check out SMIDAPEPER blog for more details. Hope to see you there!

Here's a sneak peak of the class.

Lucky Duck!

Yes, I am such a lucky duck!! Why? Check out the frame below!!! My sweet babe Jessy made this for me!! I was excited and curious when she asked for my photos and I sent her a bunch...lol! I thought she's going to make another layout but this totally caught me by surprise! Isn't it GORGEOUS?? I LOVE it so much, babe!!!!

Let me share some info about this lovely friend of mine. I found her blog last year and was completely in awe with her work so, I left her a comment. She commented me back and from there we started to 'chat' through blog. Then, I went to KL earlier this year and get to met up with her. I was at first worried that we have nothing to say....oh boy, I was dead wrong. We hit it off with a snap! We talked and talked for almost an hour....totally and completely ignored my poor hubby...lol :) Then, we started to chat on the phone....this girl can chat I tell ya! (ahem....I am a chatty person too) Now, we have officially upgraded our status from bloggy friends to friends...yeah! She does a lot of gorgeous layouts and is such an inspirational designer!! You should totally check out her BLOG if you haven't already!

On another happy note, THIS card was picked as this week's Top 5 at CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge!! (Thanks for telling me about my win, Virginia!). I can proudly display this badge on my blog :)
